Ramadan: Pray for Nigeria, And the world, Lagos NUJ urge muslims

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Lagos State Council has urged Muslim faithfuls to pray fervently for Nigeria and the world during the period of Ramadan.

In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman, Dr. Qasim Akinreti and the Secretary, Comrade Alfred Odifa, at the commencement of Ramadan on Friday , the NUJ leaders enjoined all Muslims to pray to Allah swt to put an end to the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Akinreti gave all the glory and adoration to Almighty Allah for this unique month coming after Easter celebrations as a unique opportunity to further seek guidance and support from Almighty Allah as the current administration ends its three years of service to Lagos Journalists by September 29th, 2020.

Quoting from the glorious Quran, Chapter 2 verse 185 ,“ Ramadan is the month in which the Qur'an was sent down as guidance for mankind, with clear proofs of guidance and criterion between right and wrong. Therefore ,whoever of you is present at his home in this month let him fast therein. …..…".

He advised everyone to continue to observe the Social distancing and other stipulated measures against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic religiously.
